Bertha Hardy Obituary
Bertha Ann Ward Hardy the daughter of the late James Henry and Mattie Celestine Ward softly and peacefully landed on God’s Celestial Shore Saturday May 12th 2018.
Bertha enjoyed 20+ years as a Culinary Specialist at Hampton University, with her last assignment being at the Holly Tree Inn.
Celebrating her life is her daughter, Jonne~ Hardy-Johnson (Eric); grandsons, Oscar Johnson and Eric Johnson Jr. Her sisters Beverly Beale (Ronnie) and Lakisha Price, her brother Eugene Jarvis, along with her niece Terri Ward Perkins (Ronald) and her “other daughter” Jimette Purvis (Tony) were instrumental in loving and caring for Bertha during her illness. She is also survived by Eunice Ward, Darryl Jarvis, and Shunaic Jones.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 12Pm to 7PM atRonald C. Perkins Funeral Home, 251 West Queen Street, Hampton.
Services will be held at 11AM on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Queen Street Baptist Church, 190 West Queen Street, Hampton. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Family will receive visitors from 5-9 PM Wed- Fri at 11 Boykin Lane in Hampton.
