Betty Kriebel, 99, of Perryville, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center following a period of declining health.
She was born on February 19, 1926 in Sligo, she was the daughter of Bart and Jennie (McKinney) Keister.
Betty graduated from Sligo High School in 1944. She then worked at the former Owens Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion for two and a half years and also worked at the Parker Glass Plant for three years.
She married Harold Kriebel on March 17, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2005.
Betty was a Homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In her spare time, she enjoyed, cooking, working on her flowers, pulling weeds, being outside, visiting with people, reading the newspaper, shopping, spending time with her family and friends and taking care of her family and home.
She was of the Protestant faith and was affiliated with the Church of God of West Freedom.
Betty is survived by one son, Bradley Kriebel of Perryville, one daughter, Linda Clutz of Westerville, OH., two grandchildren; Amy Todich and her husband Nathan of Orville, OH., and Michael Clutz and his wife Rachel of Westerville, OH., seven great-grandchildren; Jonathan, Josiah and Joel Todich, and Hosanna, Ellis, Albert, and Miriam Clutz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Isabell, four brothers; Lloyd, Dean, Connell, and William Keister, and a son-in-law- John Clutz.
Betty’s family will receive friends from 3 PM to 8 PM on Friday July 11, 2025 at the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo. Additional viewing will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025 at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM. The funeral service will start at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in the Perryville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Red Cross.
