Betty Martin Obituary

Betty Joyce Martin passed away on April 17, 2025, in Deer Park, Texas. She was born on June 6, 1942, in Trinity, Texas to Henry and Marie (French) Price.


Betty is survived by her daughter Cheryl Martin of Deer Park, Texas, and her son Don T. Martin, Jr. and his wife Linda of Onalaska, Texas. She leaves behind three grandchildren: Jenna Walters and her husband Leon Taylor of LaPorte, Texas, Kirsten Martin and her husband Walter Risner of Livingston, Texas, and Meagan Martin-Young and her husband Eric Young of Livingston, Texas. Her legacy continues with her five great-grandchildren Jayden, Camden, Miranda, Brai'Lee, and Kaiden. Betty is also survived by her sister Bertie Price Burke of Trinity, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.


Betty was preceded in death by the love of her life, Don T. Martin, Sr., her sister Delores Price Loyd, her brothers Henry, Charlie, and Sam Price, and her parents Henry Price and Marie French Price Oxendine.


Betty graduated from Trinity High School in Trinity, Texas in 1960. Throughout her life, she worked in various administrative positions in and around Trinity. She dedicated many years to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system, serving as a travel coordinator for the Correctional Industries Department and as a professional administrator.


Betty cherished spending time with the girls at Quebe Farm and was renowned for her unbeatable skills at Trivia. Her church home at First Presbyterian was a source of strength and comfort for her, providing bonds that were always a beacon in her life. Betty was beautiful inside and out, and she loved every single one of those around her.


Betty Joyce Martin will be remembered for her warmth, her love, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
