Billy Giles James, Jr.

1964 - 2025

Billy Giles James Jr., 61, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away at Medical City in Denton, Texas, on December 29, 2025.  He was born in Irving, Texas on December 8, 1964, the son of Billy Giles James Sr. and Betty Laverne (Melton) James.

Billy earned his GED, a milestone he was proud of, and went on to build a strong career as a Gas Meter Technician with Primoris. Through his work, he demonstrated reliability, dedication, and a strong work ethic that earned the respect of coworkers and supervisors alike.
He married Lillie Marie Waite on April 30, 1982 in Bryan, Oklahoma, and shared a life filled with love, partnership, and countless memories with her. Family was always at the center of his world. He was one of five siblings, growing up with strong family bonds that remained important throughout his life.

Billy was the proud father of three children, a cherished grandfather to nine grandchildren, and a loving great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren. He found great joy in watching his family grow and took pride in every generation that followed him.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, and the love he gave so freely to his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he built.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Sr. and Betty James; and his daughter, Tiffany James.

He is survived by his beloved wife Marie James; his siblings, Sheila Davis of Gainesville, Ronda Dyer of Valley View, and Stacy James of Fort Worth, Joey James of Gainesville, and Elvis James of Lubbock; children, Lisa Lesperance of Port Republic, Maryland, Ryan James of Valley View; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A graveside service for Billy will be held at Sanger Cemetery in Sanger, Texas, on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00am.

Services are entrusted to Coker Funeral Home in Sanger.
