Brandy Pleasants Obituary

Brandy Nicole Pleasants was born August 16, 1983 to the union of Joseph and Nancy Pleasants in Beaufort, South Carolina.

From an early age Brandy exuded a likeness for helping those in need and served as an EMT with the Frog Level Rescue Squad. After graduating from Caroline County High School, she went to work for the United States Postal Service as a Rural Carrier, Shop Steward, and Acting Supervisor in Ashland, Virginia and served as Post Master Relief in Ladysmith, Virginia.

In 2010 Brandy graduated Magna Cum Laude from ECPI College of Technology with an Associate of Applied Health Science and Medical Assisting.

In her spare time Brandy enjoyed spending time with her sisters, attending bible study, and hanging out with her friends and co-workers. Brandy was known as the family and friend “doctor” and never hesitated to help those in need. As the oldest of five Brandy was the ideal role model and served as a listening ear to family and friends.

Brandy will be remembered for her radiating spirit and sweet personality that glimmered whenever she was met.

On August 1, 2018, Brandy was celebrated home. Brandy is mourned for a short while, but cherished forever by her parents Nancy and Joseph Pleasants, her grandmother, Catherine O. Marks, siblings: Brittanie Phillips (Jamar), Alan Ames, Jonathan Ames and Tyler Ames, Mary J. Anderson (aunt), Edmond “Buck” Baylor (uncle), Evelyn Gregory (aunt), Robert L. Gregory, (uncle), James E. Gregory (uncle), D’Andrea Harris (aunt), Jeanette Ames (aunt), Michelle Hogue(aunt), godson Jayden Gregory Haskins and a host of loving cousins and friends.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. I have never met Brandy but she looks and sounds like she was a beautiful woman, inside and out, who was liked and loved by those who knew her. We are one huge 'family' at the USPS, and though I cant speak for everyone I do hope that you can feel the support from all over the country.

It has been said that if someone loses a spouse, they are widowed. If someone loses a parent they are orphaned. But there is no word for the loss of a child, because the grief is too much for words. We know what you are going through, and you can never get over it;
but time and good memories will help.
