Brenda Potantus Obituary

Brenda J. Potantus (nee Bates), 61, of Grafton, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Brenda was born January 26, 1953 in Kentucky. She worked for Ford Motor Company in Brookpark and retired after 34 years. Brenda loved to read, shop and spend time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 31 years Robert; 4 children, Tracie Hatchett of Cleveland, Thomas Feher (Lisa) of Medina, Michele Exley (David) of Dover and Kimberly Potantus of Brunswick; 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; her parents Arthur and Virginia Bates of Rock Hill, SC; 2 sisters, Linda Polansky (George) and Sharon Rhome (Scott); 3 brothers, Frank (Sandy), Mike (Teri) and Chris (Pauline) Bates; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 3:00pm at Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd. (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Pastor Robert Smalley will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Bob & Family, I only heard about all of you from Brenda at work.I never had the pleasure to meet all of you.Brenda talked a lot about her family.She was a great person to talk with.I am sorry for your loss. To the Bates family, We all grew up together with the good and the bad. I did have the chance to work with Brenda before she retired. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you! I am sorry that I could not be there today.
