Brenda Sims Obituary
Wednesday December 27, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was 61 years old.
Brenda was born to Lloyd and Helen Ellis on May 5, 1956 in Santa Barbara, CA.
She graduated from Indianola High School, Indianola, OK in May 1974. She
married Jim Sims in McAlester, OK on May 25 of the same year.
Brenda was a homemaker and the owner of Scrubbies Uniforms in Shawnee, OK.
She enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking with her kids. Brenda enjoyed family
vacations to Walt Disney World. Time spent with family was important to her.
Brenda always put the needs of others before hers. Helping others brought her
happiness. She had a kind word for everyone. Her children were the light of her
life but she was most proud of being Nonna to her beautiful grandchildren. Her
grandchildren brought her true joy and she always had a smile on her face when
she was with them. Brenda's legacy of faith, kindness and grace will be forever
cherished by all that knew her.
Brenda is survived by husband Jim Sims of the home. Her children Becky and
Jason Gray of Shawnee, OK. Andy and Leslie Sims of Edmond, OK. Mandy Sims
and Ben Edwards of Shawnee, OK. Her grandchildren Maycee Edwards, Liam Gray
and Baby Boy Edwards. Her siblings Doris and Wayne Easley of Kingston, OK,
Ronnie and Carol Ellis of Kingston, OK, Delbert and Marsha Ellis of McAlester, OK,
Sandra Pool of McAlester, OK, Ester Reeves of Phoenix, AZ, and Aime and John
Gordon of Shawnee, OK. Kenny Sims of Muldrow, OK, Carol and Gerald Henson of
Short, OK, Cindy and Steve Short of Nicut, OK and Bill Sims of Nicut, OK. Brenda is
also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Services for Brenda Sims will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 30, 2017 at
Hilltop Baptist Church Shawnee, OK with Pastor Gary Nickerson officiating.
Interment to immediately follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

I had the pleasure of working with Brenda for almost three years at her store which she loved and adored. I can honestly say she was one of the most incredible and easiest people to work alongside and for. She was always so soft spoken and easy to get along with and her heart was full of pure gold! Her family brought her the biggest joy in life and anyone who knew her, it was known! I will forever consider her as well as the rest of the family a part of my own. We are devasted and heartbroken to not have her on this earth with us anymore for her to spread her joyous, contagious smile but I know for a fact she is rejoicing with our Savior Jesus Christ! We will keep the prayers coming for the family in the days ahead.

Brenda was truly the best person I have ever known. Her selflessness was always something I looked up to. She was cherished by her family and friends. I am heartbroken I cannot make it to OK for her funeral but she is on my mind and heart. Mandy, Andy, Becky and Jim, I grieve with you. Love your family.
