Prayers for the precious family. I am Army Lieutenant General A.C.Roper currently serving on active duty. In my civilian capacity, I retired as the Chief of Police in Birmingham, AL. Brian was cut from the same cloth, serving his country as a Soldier and his community in law enforcement. When Brian deployed to Iraq he served in one of my subordinate units so I understand his impact, his leadership and his legacy. C.H. Certain people bring a brightness into this world that cannot be diminished. A part of Brian's will always shine through me. I am grateful for the love you gave us and I will always smile through the tears when I think of you. Rest in peace my Jersey brother. I love you.

Brian came into our lives 20 years ago when he transferred into our son’s Army unit. He stayed with us every duty weekend and we soon came to think of him as our other son.
