Brian Keith Welch, 59 of Bluefield, WV passed into the loving arms of his Savior on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from lung cancer. Born August 3, 1961, in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of Clyde Welch, Jr. and Peggy Ann Welch. After graduating from Bluefield High School in 1979, he owned and operated Welch’s Body Shop. Most recently, he was employed with Volvo in Dublin, VA. He loved 70’s music and was an avid concert attendee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death 53 days prior to his own by wife Vickie DeHart Welch. Left to cherish their memories are his sister Penny Welch Belcher and husband John of Princeton; nephews Justin Ryan Belcher and wife Cassie Powell Belcher of San Francisco, CA; and Derek Lee Belcher, wife Phuong Le Belcher and daughter Mai Phuong Belcher of San Bruno, CA. Also, the joy of their lives, his two 3-year-old sister canine companions, Sully and River, who now both need fur-ever homes together, are grieving the loss of both their mom and dad. His good friends since high school, Richie Bloomfield and Danny Mattox who helped lead him to the Lord, were ever present during his illness to remind Brian he was not alone. Gifts of remembrance can be mailed to Willowbrook Baptist Church, 118 Willowbrook Road, Princeton, WV. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Penny and family,
I, too, am a classmate of Brian’s. I was shocked and saddened to hear this. He was an easy going and fun spirited friend. I have not seen him for years, but always had good memories from our time as a class at BHS. He will be missed!
I know you are heartbroken and have suffered a lot of loss in the last several months. May knowing he is in heaven, and you will be together again, bring a little comfort during this difficult time. My thoughts are prayers will continue to be with you and your family.
