Buddy Simpson Obituary

Buddy Tyrone Simpson, 78, of Coldiron went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital. Born December 26, 1940 in Wallins, he was a retired Barber for many years and believed in the Pentecostal faith. He was also a member of the Wallins Mosonic Lodge.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Simpson; his parents, Bud Simpson and Jimmie Burke Simpson.


Buddy is survived by his wife, Shirley Long Simpson, Coldiron; two children, Buddy Simpson and wife, Holly, Wallins and Karen Simpson, Wallins; three brothers, John Curtis Simpson and wife, Judy, Wallins; Floyd Simpson and wife, Sue, Taylor, MI and Lloyd Simpson, Baxter; two sisters, Sandy Hendrickson and Perry, Wallins and Mary Ann “Sissie” Niday, Wallins; two grandchildren, Brandon Soublo and Andrew Simpson, both of Wallins.


Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Harlan Funeral Home.


Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 in the chapel of the Harlan Funeral Home with the Reverend Perry Long and Reverend Jack Carmical officiating.


Entombment will be in the Daniels Cemetery, Wallins with family and friends serving as pallbearers.


Harlan Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangements.

My heart is sad; Buddy was one of the neighborhood kids I grew up with, along with his siblings. We had so much fun "jumping board" behind the store, and having hot-dog roasts up on the hill. I always loved his Mom and Dad and his entire family.
