Calvin A. Edwards, 79, of Steubenville went home to glory July 10, 2017. Calvin was born June 13, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to the late Leroy E. and Ernestine Madden Edwards.
Calvin graduated from Steubenville High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Toronto, Ohio. Calvin was a proud and loyal member of the U.S. Army receiving an honorable discharge. He worked for Baron in Weirton, West Virginia until his health started to fail.
Calvin was a dedicated family man to many people. He has lived his life helping others.
Calvin enjoyed bowling where he had won many Hoinke Classic Tournaments. He was also an active member of the American Bowling League, USBC, and the American Legion.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leroy, Warren, Ernest, Robert, Frank, and Anthony.
He is survived by his children, Tamara L. Young, Calvin A. Edwards, Jr., Marie Nance and a nephew, Hakim (Kim) Edwards whom he raised; his granddaughters, Tia and Raven Young and Brittany Damron; great granddaughters, Alexiana Rodgers, and Azayla Robinsons; a significant other Joyce Nightengale; brothers, Wade, Stanley, and David Edwards; sisters, Carolyn Douglas, Sharon Haskins, and Deidre Edwards; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
