Mrs. Carlta Jean Ford Setlock, age 83, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 25, 1942 to the late Carlton Ford and the late Lois Watson Ford.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyd Ford and Jerry “Boot” Ford and one sister, Glenda Ford.

Jean had a great love of words, reading, writing, poetry, great conversationalist, loved to meet new people and make new friends. She loved to read the Bible and could quote scripture.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Mona Phillips (Sandy) of Lumberton, NC, Diane Prevatte of Lumberton, NC; brothers, David Ford of Lumberton, NC, Edward “Tony” Ford (Billie) of Raleigh, NC, Billy Ford of Lumberton, NC and Johnny Ford (Lisa) of Lumberton, NC; sisters, Janet Stroud (Don) of Winston Salem, NC, Nelda Redfern of Orange, CA, Penny Johnson (Charles) of Bladenboro, NC, Angela Jackson (Tim) of Rutherfordton, NC and one granddaughter, Brandi Phillips (Dillion) of Lillington, NC.
