A celebration of the life of Carol Kay Parnell, 61, will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Reverend Stacy West officiating.
A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Carol was born December 18, 1964, in Olathe, Kansas, the daughter of the Carl Hadley and Sharon Staton Carr. She passed away January 25, 2026, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Stilwell Kansas. She attended Blue Valley High School. She worked and studied to become a registered nurse and received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Ft. Scott Community College.
Carol worked for several hospitals including Mercy, Integris and St. Johns; and after retiring from nursing she opened and operated the Turquoise Boutique in Ardmore.
She had a love of music, travel, and the beach. She loved her grandchildren, spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Nick Parnell and wife Brittany and Joshua Parnell; her stepchildren, Luke Parsons; Winter Mazuela and husband Jorge; and Olivia Parsons; her mother Sharon Carr and her brother Gary Hadley and his wife Susi; and her grandchildren, Bryce, McKenna, Brayden, Mallory and Brianna. Her son Westley Harrison and stepfather Don Carr preceded her in death.

Nick, Brittany, and family,
I am so sorry for the loss of Carol. I didn't know her personally but through stories. The one thing that did stick with me was how much she wanted to be a grandmother, and she loved those babies so much! Prayers for your family.
