Carol Ann Hankel Pope, age 71, of the Cox’s Chapel Community, formerly of Mazomanie, Wisconsin, died on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. Mrs. Pope was born on August 20, 1950 in Madison, Wisconsin to Otis and Florence Hankel who preceded her in death. She was the widow of Barry Pope. Mrs. Pope had a special love for her family and friends. She was especially close to her “Church Family,” the members of Cox’s Grove Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons: Ronnie and Shelly Pope of Johnson City, TN, Robbie and Missy Pope of Elk Creek, Virginia, and Jesse and Michelle Pope of Newland, NC; daughter, Rebecca and Charles Berchette of the home; four stepchildren; 13 grandchildren; special nieces, Sandy, Sharon, Sheila, Judy and Linda also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, October 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Cox’s Chapel Methodist Church with the Pastor, Rev. David L. Serven officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow the funeral service in the Cox’s Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00-2:00 PM.

Great memories of growing up around Aunt Carol and all of her children. She loved life and adored her kids. I'm lifting all of her children, their spouses, and grandchildren in my prayers... I pray that you find comfort and peace every time you need it. In my heart and prayers.
