Cora E. Rogers

1937 - 2026

 

CORA E. ROGERS, age 89 of Ledyard, passed away at her residence, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday. March 25, 2026.

Cora was born  in Andover, MA on January 20, 1937 the daughter of Albert H. and Mildred Abbott Reed.

She married James Rogers in Groton on February 23, 1980.   

Cora worked as an Administrative Secretary for 31 years at Electric Boat Company retiring in 2006.

She had been a member of the National Honor Society. She also was a member and past president of the Emblem Club at the Groton Lodge of Elks.

Besides her husband she is survived by her sons, David E. Garside of New London, Daniel A Garside of Waterford, her daughters, Gail E Roselund of Glen Burine, MD Susan A Inman of Gales Ferry and Janet L. Wilcox of Oakdale, 10 grand children and 11 great grandchildren. Cora was predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Walde, Bertha O’Brien and Beverly Ricci. 

A Funeral service will be held at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St on Wednesday, April 1 at 1 o’clock. Visiting hours will on Tuesday from 5 until 7 o’clock. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery Mystic. Donations in her memory may be directed to the Connecticut Humane Society.
