While pursuing her teaching degree at what is now known as Kean University in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Carol also worked as a park counselor, supervising and mentoring children in camp programs.
Carol enjoyed traveling, bike riding, ice skating, and especially spending time at the beaches along the Jersey Shore.
Carol is predeceased by her parents Robert H. and Eunice. Carol is survived by her six siblings: Joanne Tomlinson; Robert Tomlinson (Susan); Arleen Spota (Jeff); John Tomlinson (Doreen); Glen Tomlinson (Amy); and Christine Waldron (Michael). She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews and eleven great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she dearly loved and with whom she shared many special moments.
Carol’s faith, vitality for life, her strength, and her resolve are an example for her family and her friends for years to come. A viewing and funeral service will be held on the morning of Saturday, April 11, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at Rossi’s Funeral Home in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.

I have known Carol since I moved to Sunrise Court in Scotch Plains when I was 9 years old. She has always been such a kind, loving person. I am so sorry to hear this as I saw her at our 50th class reunion and she was so excited to be in remission and living the life she built for herself down the Jersey Shore where she was enjoying life to the fullest. Rest in Peace Carol.

A beautiful girl with a beautiful soul and the best laugh. The young people she touched with her talent for teaching will carry a piece of her spirit as they go on with their own lives. God bless you, dear Carol. I know you are now laughing in heaven.
