Easley
Benjamin Chad Hawkins, 36, of 102 Charles St., husband of Robin Ensley Hawkins, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 19, 2014.
Born March 19, 1978 in Greenville County, he was the son of Benjamin Terry and Nancy Young Hawkins. Chad was a 1996 graduate of Pickens High School and attended USC Upstate. He was the owner and operator of Palmetto State Metal Roofing. An avid outdoors man, he loved to rabbit hunt, fish and play baseball with his son Carter. Chad shared his birthday with his daughter Reese, and they had a special bond only a father and daughter could have. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents and wife of thirteen years, he is survived by his son, Benjamin Carter Hawkins; daughter, Caroline Reese Hawkins; and sister, Mandy Hawkins Lamb (Russell).
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, March 21, 2014 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
The family is at the home.

We are all praying for you and your family. Chad had a love for you, Carter and Reece that no other has. I got to spend some time with him in the dugout. Even in pain, he gave his all with a huge smile on his face. He loved seeing Carter play, he loved watching you chase Reece around while he played catcher. He really loved you 3 bunches. Ya'll were his life and he spoke of it often in the dugout. Our prayers will never cease. We will always be here for you and your family.

I want to express my condolences to the family and friends that knew Chad so well. I went through school with Him and I don't remember one time that He wasn't happy, smiling, and having a good time. The last time we spoke was on the last day of school, we shook hands and said our fair wells and gave each other a shoulder bump ( a guy hug) and headed our way into life. I always hoped that I would run into Him somewhere as I do for all of my friends. With that being said, I can't think of any better place to see Him than a place called Heaven and for Chad- Home. I know that in this time that the family is in- The Lord is near and even holding your hands. I didn't know Chad personally only as a patient. However, in the few times I worked with him, I found him to be a special young man with a sweet smile and a desire to help others even when he was so very ill. My heart breaks for you but I know that Chad is where I long to go someday. I know his smile is sweeter today than it's ever been. My continued thoughts and prayers are with you. Though you do not know me, I am a member at Geer Memorial and serve on the CDC Council, and worked hard on getting the FBCDC merger to happen! I have met little Reese, she is precious! I lost my wife, Carol to leukemia 15 years ago and can certainly understand your loss!! We will lift you and the children up to the Lord in these difficult days!!

Chad has been a blessing to us for many years but we were especially blessed to spend some extra time with him while he installed the metal roof on PS Chiropractic. We hope his family will soon be able to smile as they ride by knowing that Chad Hawkins left his special touch there. He was a very special man who had a beautiful smile as he talked about his love for his wife and kids daily. Chad will be missed by all who knew and love him.
