Charles Cornelius Bailey

1970 - 2023

Charles Cornelius Bailey was born in Richmond, Virginia, on December 14, 1970, to the union of Ashberry and Emma Lee Johnson Williams. He passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2023, at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, at 52.

 

Charles was a Christian by faith. After completing his high school education, he furthered his education in culinary arts to become a chef. He most recently worked as a material handler for Rue 21. Charles was known to be outspoken with a goofy sense of humor. He loved sports and would always root for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed listening to music, cooking, and playing video games in his spare time. He loved his family tremendously, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren. His memory will live in their hearts forever.

 

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by one brother Ashberry Williams Jr. and Shellette Williams; and a mother-in-law Rosetta Carter.

 

He is survived by his wife Toleta Carter Bailey; Sons Jamie Curry, K’Shawn Hill, Treyvon Horne, Derius Bailey, and James Carter; daughters Monique Wyatt, Shantai Bailey, and Ashley Carter; brother Christopher Williams; two sisters Theresa Dickens and Lena Williams; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

 

A private visitation was held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Gregory-Martin Funeral Home. A public memorial service will take place in Richmond, Virginia at a later date. Please check back in the near future for service information. Leave condolences for the family through the online guestbook.
