Charles Kearse, 81, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, peacefully departed this life on February 18, 2026. He was a devoted family man, a dedicated professional, and a respected member of his community.


Charles built a long and honorable career in landscaping, where his strong work ethic and attention to detail earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his career, he was widely known as the head of a marching music band, a role that reflected his leadership, discipline, and passion for music. His love for creativity and precision extended into his personal interests, including collecting rare coins and capturing life’s special moments through photography.


Family was at the heart of Charles’ life. He cherished time spent with loved ones and took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jeffery Martin,his beloved granddaughter, Nakia ; and his siblings May, Alexander, Johnny, Jerry, Vickie, Annette, and Roger. He was preceded in life by his parents, whose values and guidance helped shape the man he became.


Charles will be remembered for his strength, wisdom, and steady presence. His legacy of dedication, love, and leadership will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
