Charles R. Swindell

A legacy to remember forever Mr. Charles R. Swindell played many roles in the Enfield Community, Halifax County and Weldon City Schools. He taught my two brothers and my husband at Andrew Jackson Elementary School in Halifax. I remember him coming on the bus to monitor the elementary students off as we preceded to Ralph J. Bunch in Weldon. As moving to Enfield, starting T. S. Inborden School where Mrs. Swindell was my music teacher, then joined St. Paul Baptist Church with both Mr. & Mrs....

We are saddened to hear of the passing of our elementary and high school teacher! Sister Miriam and I used to see him right often at K&W in Rocky Mount. Sincere condolences and prayers are with his Family at this difficult time. God is near to those who mourn and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!

RIP to a pioneer, public servant, and community leader. I did not know Mr. Swindell personally, but the outpouring of love from the community, particularly in Enfield, assures me that his impact extended and will continue to extend beyond his natural life.

Thank you Mr Swindell for your guidance when you were my principal. You were a great man May you rest in peace!
