CLYMER- Charlotte L Archer Black, 84, of Clymer, NY and formerly of Westfield, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at St Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, PA. She was born on August 11, 1941, in Barcelona, NY, the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Spicer Archer.
She had attended Westfield and Academy Central School. For many years she had worked in the Westfield Memorial Hospital Kitchen and then also for the Absolut Care nursing home in Westfield in the laundry department.
Charlotte had been a member of the West Portland Baptist Church. She enjoyed Line Dancing, Jamborees, collecting lighthouses and mice ornaments, rooting for the New York Yankees and Mets, watching the Little League World Series, and baking Christmas Cookies.
She is survived by two children, Kelly (Brad) Motherwell of Clymer, NY, and James (Debbie) Black of Sherman, NY, seven grandchildren, Jamie, Samantha and Kristopher Black, Tammy (Darron) Trask, Courtney (Allen) Lintz, Alanna (Caleb) Damcott, and Morgan Motherwell, and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roy J. Black, two brothers, Ralph and Richard Archer, three grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.
At Charlotte’s request, there will be no public services held. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Westfield Union Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to the Sherman and or Clymer Rescue Squads.
