CHARLOTTE KITCHENS MAUGANS, 92, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord January 10, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born July 23, 1931 to Leon and Ella Kitchens, the youngest of their two children. She graduated from Emory University with a degree in Medical Technology and worked at Emory for a brief time until she took a break to raise her five children. After her children were grown she worked at The Med as a Medical Technologist in the Blood Bank until she retired. Charlotte was very adventurous, she enjoyed travelling both around the United States and around the world with her husband, Harry Maugans III. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Leon Kitchens, Jr. She is survived by her five children, Harry Maugans, IV (Elaine), Lyn (Greg) Long, Susan (Ed) Gold, Ruth (Steve) Nolen, and Pete (Gretchen) Maugans; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren and counting. The family request memorials be made to Conexion Training at www.conexiontraining.org/donate. Charlotte’s final resting place will be with her husband, Harry at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
*Due to extensive inclement weather, the family celebrated Charlotte's life with an intimate family gathering-Memorial Service.
