Christopher Angelo Brasili, 47, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Wilmington, on January 11, 1971.
Chris attended New Hanover High School and later enjoyed working as a dental laboratory technician, during that time he met his wife and best friend of 10 ½ years. He was an enthusiastic collector, trader, refurbisher, and seller of “action figures” and enjoyed playing with them as well. He was passionate about his sports teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the UNC Tarheels, and constantly listened to “talk radio”. Most important to Chris was his time spent with old friends “hanging out”, playing basketball, and easily making new friends whether it be on a shopping trip to Wal-Mart or just going to a restaurant. Chris never met a stranger and touched many lives along his way. He was a very faithful man, loved God, believed in scripture and enjoyed attending Calvary Baptist Church with his family and participating in Sunday School at the church.
Surviving are his wife, Bethany Brasili and daughter, Kona; a brother, Will Wiggins; a sister, Rebecca Wiggins; aunt, Linda Edwards; mother-in-law, Joan Sims; sisters-in-law, Dana Clark and Kimberly Sims; brother-in-law, Clay Clark; cousins, Robin Edwards and Ray Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also remembered are his faithful companions, Mia, Sonny, Lucky, and Nemo, his late guinea pig. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Cathy Wiggins, and his father-in-law, Edward Sims, Jr.
The family would like to thank Chris’s neurologist, Valerie Masotti, for her many years of care, friendship and dedication.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church, 423 North 23rd Street, Wilmington, NC (910-762-5608), with Dr. Donnie Lovette and Rocky Myrick officiating.
In lieu of flowers Chris’s family ask that you consider a donation in his memory to the Epilepsy Foundation of North Carolina, Piedmont One, Ste. 5541A, 1920 West First Street, Winston-Salem, NC, 27104. (epilepsync.org)

I knew Chris through his beautiful wife Bethany. When she shared family stories, her energy brightened and she'd make me laugh out loud because the tales were typically funny about her adventures with Chris and Kona. My heart aches for your loss Bethany and for your entire family. I wish you peace and please know you all are in my prayers.

I'll always remember Chris for his love of the Tar Heels, his wackiness and for hosting my high school graduation party. He was a dear soul, and I'm happy you found each other. Wishing you peace during this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing many were fond of him.
