Born in Russia on October 1, 1987, Christopher spent his earliest years in an orphanage, quickly becoming the darling of the caregivers and other children. His laughter, curiosity, and bright eyes endeared him to all who met him, hinting at the remarkable life ahead. In 1995, his world transformed when Christy and Earnest Fiveash adopted him and brought him to the United States, arriving in Chicago, Illinois. With courage and an open heart, he embraced a new home and a loving family, building roots that would shape the rest of his life. Christopher graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Graphic Arts, where he formed many close friendships and deep connections. Known for his creativity and collaborative spirit, he made a lasting impression on classmates and professors alike. After graduating from college, he embarked on his professional journey, ultimately finding a home at Sumo Logic as a graphic designer. There, he not only contributed his skills and talent but also forged strong friendships and found joy in the camaraderie of his colleagues. Throughout his life, Christopher was known for his warm smile, quick wit, and rare ability to make others feel understood and valued. His story is one of hope, the bonds of chosen family, and the countless ways one life can brighten so many others. He is survived by his loving parents, Earnest E. Fiveash, Jr. and wife Lauren B. Fiveash, and Christy L. Nicklas, his siblings Tatianna C. McCaskill and Natasha L. Fiveash, paternal grandmother, Peggy S. Fiveash, Christy Waldrop, Anna Waldrop, Jessie Waldrop, and Samuel McCaskill, nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will carry his memory forward.

My deepest sympathy to family and friends. I enjoyed Chris's creative spirit, his kindness, humor- he really cracked me up so many times (even over zoom and that is hard to do) and his passion for his work and his ability to find fun in the mundane. I will miss him very very much.

May Chris’ soul rest in the peace and light of God. May God bless and the Holy Family console you and your family’s hearts in this season of grief.
Chris was my studio mate for several semesters and fellow Graphic Art graduate at the U of M. (I was also the oldest student–old enough to be his mother, lol.) Chris was always kind to me, funny and very talented with a smile on his bright face! We also shared a birthday week, with him on October 1st & me on the 2nd, still remembering and wishing each other happy sentiments even after all these years have passed. It will be with great sorrow, but fond memories, to wish your young Chris a Heavenly birthday this year.
