Clarence was born April 16, 1946, in Sioux Falls, SD to Clarence R Strampe and Evelyn K (Eggers) Strampe. He was married to Gwendolyn Olson, and they had one son, Darrin. In 1975 Clarence married Sharon (Temple) DeGroot. Together they had 2 children, Matthew and Sarah. He also became Dad to Sharon’s 4 children Christie, Michael, Robin, and Misty.
For 50 years there were no halves or steps; only one big and very loving family. After graduation Clarence worked as a welder, in construction, driving semi over the road and finally driving short trips for local companies. For almost 50 years he spent our winters doing commercial snow removal. He loved to boat, fish, and go on vacations with his wife, family and friends. But most of all he just loved his family. He would find any excuse to get the family together and he would do the cooking.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Christine Williams, Michael (Amy) Williams, Darrin (Terri) Andrews, Robin Klinghagen, Misty (Lee) Nichols, Matthew (Kayla) Strampe and Sarah Strampe; 24 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister Janet (LeRoy) Downs and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence R and Evelyn Strampe, as well as a niece and nephew.

Dad taught me that hard work ment something, and even though I've never really been open, I loved him and I'm glad he was a father for me. I'll miss him and remember him.

My condolences to everyone who knew and loved Clarence. His legacy is alive in all those who were in his presence. Robin is one of the best people on God’s green earthClarence was an influential part of the the kind of person she is. I am grateful to have spent a wonderful evening with him and his wife so recently. It was my honor. My prayer is that he will meet my father -who started his journey in heaven before him. They will undoubtedly get along very well. Godspeed Clearance.
