I too grew up in Arlington, Georgia. My father was older, but in a small town you would say he and Clarice “grew up together!” Clarice was beloved by the Arlington community. All looked forward to when she came “home” for a visit. I was particularly excited. It meant Karen, Kim, and Kelly were coming too! I have many wonderful childhood memories of those fun times. Clarice’s mother lived directly behind our house making it easy for us to get together. Over the last several years we reconnected through social media. It was wonderful to be back in touch and regularly commenting on each other’s posts. I was so sad to receive the message from Karen that her mother was in serious condition. I prayed for complete healing, and hoped it would be on this earth. God has Clarice now. The scriptures say absent from the body, present with the Lord. Clarice is healed and walks with Jesus in Paradise. For Karen, Kim and Kelly along with their families, I pray for precious memories and the peace that passes all understanding.
Love to all and God bless,
Melanie Cowart Collier

I had the privilege of knowing Clarice for as long as I can remember growing up on North Franklin street in Dearborn Michigan. I always thought we lived on the best block in town and Clarice helped make it that way with parties she would host for us kids etc. She always had a smile on her face and was very gracious. Clarice was like a sister to my mother. My thoughts and prayers are with Clarice's family who I know will greatly miss her.

I’m so sad. Clarice and I met at a party on Dauphin Island, Al. and became instant friends. We rode bikes all over the Island and kept in contact by phone. Hard to believe we were friends for 16 years. My husband and I went to dinner with her and Charlie when we were in Detroit for the Auto Show. We lost our husbands a few weeks apart and she came to the Island for a few days after visiting her family in Arlington. She was a special person and loved her family. for her family.

There are only a few people in each chapter of life who a person can really connect with enough to ask advice, laugh and cry with, be absolutely frank knowing that they will love you through it all! Clarice was that kind of friend to me. I met Clarice more than 20 years ago in the swimming pool. We swam, talked, laughed and cried every week. She was such a reassuring voice when I told her of my life challenges. Somehow I always felt like it would all "work out" after hearing her responses to my problems. I admired her resilience and relished her stories. She lived a full and adventure filled life! I will miss so! May God hold her in the palm of His hand.
Sending love and prayers to her family.
