Clayton R. Knapp, 80, of Wichita Falls passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026 in the Chapel of Owens ad Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Gonzalez, officiating. Interment with Army Honors will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Clayton was born on June 30, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Clifford and Louise (Mitchell) Knapp. A graduate of Oscar Mayer High School, Clayton served his country in the Army Reserve, and then was called to Active Duty during the Vietnam conflict. Clayton was employed by Deluxe Check Printers for many years, working his way up from the floor of the factory to the office building where, among other duties, he designed and drew proofs for custom checks. After moving to Texas, worked for a time at the Helen Farabee Center. He was also active in the order of the “Cooties”, a veteran’s organization that helped veterans and their families.
Clayton was interested in amateur radio, and earned a technician’s license, and the callsign that identified him, KA9CPB. Even after moving to Texas, Clayton continued and became a Skywarn Spotter with the local group. Clayton and Donna loved to travel, and had seen thirty-seven states, six Canadian provinces, most of Central America, and three countries in South America.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Randy Knapp.
Clayton is survived by his wife Donna; brother Larry Knapp of Chicago; brother-in-law Steve Harms; three nephews, Daniel, Jesse, and Michael Knapp; four great-nephews and one great-niece.

Oh, Donna, I am so sorry to see this. Clayton was always so funny and a truly NICE man. Hope he and Bobbie can get together..................
