Connie Eastman Obituary

Connie M (Sheltra) Eastman:

Connie M Eastman of Newport Center, VT passed away August 25, 2022 at the age of 71. She entered heaven the way she lived her life, with courage, dignity and grace, after a long battle with cancer.  Connie was born June 16, 1951, in Newport, VT the daughter of Raymond P. and Elsie A(Bean)Sheltra.

Connie graduated from North Country High School, Class of 1971.  Following graduation, she worked at Wayne’s Fisherman Platter. Connie later married Richard (Rick) Eastman her loving and devoted husband. In March they celebrated 46 years of marriage.  While married she worked at Slolam Ski Wear and later for Bogner while raising their two sons, Richard and Jimmy Eastman.  The pride of her life was her grandson, Jordan John.  After many years of working outside of the home Connie later returned to the home to be the bookkeeper for their family company, Eastman Trucking and Log Yard until her passing.

Connie enjoyed cooking, bingo, casinos and spending time with family and friends. She loved family get togethers especially cookouts and the holidays.  She also cherished watching her grandson Jordan John play basketball. Some of her favorite moments were spent in Florida shopping and taking advantage of the nice weather with her sister Ann. Connie also liked taking cruises and going to Georgia each year with family.  Among Connie’s favorite things was her love for hummingbirds.

Connie is survived by her husband, Richard (Rick) Eastman, son Richard Eastman and Karen Carr; son Jimmy Eastman; Connie had a special place in her heart for her grandson Jordan John Eastman; sister Ann Gustin and Richard McAllister; Brother Roger Sheltra and wife Nadine Sheltra; sister Vickie and husband David LaClair; sister Mary Perrault and Clifford Martin; brother Raymie and wife Karen; brother Ricky and wife Peggy Sheltra:  brother Reynolds and wife Sondra Sheltra, Brother-in-law Danny Culberson; Sister-in-law Colleen Loomis, Judy Brown and Laurie Eastman. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many friends who provided support, comfort, and assistance during this difficult time.

Connie is predeceased by her parents Raymond Sheltra, and Elsie Fontaine and stepfather Gerard Fontaine; sister Linda Webb and Tina Culberson; father-and mother-in-law Alton and Geraldine Eastman; Brother-in-law’s Albert and David Eastman

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M on Saturday October 8, 2022, at the Newport Center Cemetery for family and friends.

As you get older in life and start loosing friends and people you know, it seems like we are taken from this earth way to early . Have we done and accomplished all we wanted to do, have we experienced joy, have we left our mark and touched others with love ? Connie did all of this, she has done all of this and more. She will be missed, but look at what she has left us with..love,laughter,hope,friendships,and memories all things we wouldn’t of had ,had she not been in our lives. Gone but never forgotten.
