Cora Assenheimer Obituary
Peacefully on July 22, 2023 at the United Methodist Communities, Collingswood, NJ; formerly of Pennsauken, NJ. Age 98 years.
Beloved daughter of the late Cora and Otto Assenheimer. She was predeceased by her siblings: Edith (Burton) Hawk, Irma Coyle, Karl (Dorothy) Assenheimer, Walter Assenheimer, Theodore (Pearl) Assenheimer and Elsie (Bernie) Luethy. Cora is survived by 10 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Educated in the field of journalism, Cora spent her career as a longtime English teacher in the Black Horse Regional School District. She was also a longtime, active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Merchantville, NJ. Cora was an avid cat lover who loved her family dearly and enjoyed time spent together with extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, July 28, 10 to 11 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Cora's memory to the Humane Society (www.humansociety.org) and/or the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043 (www.awanj.org).

Miss Assenheimer turned me on to reading. She was very nice to me and I think that secretly, she enjoyed the antics of our freshman English class (1974). I a glad that she enjoyed such a long and happy life,

May GOD BLESS her! I recall having her for English one year and I liked her ways. It's probably why I care so much to try to punctuate and spell correctly! IMy deepest sympathy to her family and friends. Truly one of a kind- a Good Kind! 98! Wow that's Truly amazing! She was blessed!

Miss Assenheimer was my Freshman English teacher quite a few years ago at Highland High School. She was such a nice lady. I really enjoyed her class.
