Cynthia Eddy Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - Cynthia Anne Eddy, 76, died peacefully in the intensive care unit at Saratoga Hospital on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in the presence of dearly loved friends and family members.

Cyndy was born on September 7, 1949, at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, New York. She was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, class of 1967. Cyndy attended Cazenovia College where she met her future husband. Following her marriage in 1971 she relocated with him to Caracas, Venezuela, where she lived for about seven years in the high-altitude mountain town of Colonia Tovar.

Cyndy would eventually move back to Saratoga Springs where she raised her two sons as a single parent. She simultaneously settled into her career at the Saratoga Springs Public Library as a Clerk and ultimately Senior Clerk. Her career at the library spanned over 30 years with many joyful memories with her colleagues and daily acquaintances.

Cyndy was a longtime member of the Ballston Spa Gnosis Center (originally of Saratoga Springs) where she studied and practiced for over 30 years. Through her affiliation at the Gnosis Center, she met many lifelong and cherished friends. Cyndy was an avid swimmer and spent a lifetime of summer vacations on Drakes Island, Maine. She was a gifted artist and painter, devoted gardener and had special culinary talents. Cyndy will be remembered by many for her great generosity and compassion, remarkable wit and extraordinary singing voice.

Cyndy is survived by her two sons, Lucas (of Saratoga Springs) and Samuel Adam (surname at birth, Rodriguez) (Sophie C. Dionne-Adam); granddaughter Willow Rose Adam (Sam and Sophie); sister Susan M. Philbin (Kevin); brother Michael C. Eddy (Jimmy Crawford). She is also survived by her nephew Peter Flanders (Allison) and niece Melissa Dube (Matthew); maternal aunt Gloria (D’Aiello) Wehle and uncle Ralph D’Aiello (Leah); four great nephews and nieces, Blaine Flanders, Maclaren Flanders, Emmett Dube, Hudson Dube and several cousins. Cyndy was pre-deceased by her younger brother, John Spencer Eddy, and her parents, Margaret J. and L. Charles Eddy.

There will be no public services. A private ritual of interment for family will be held in May, 2026, and will be followed by a memorial celebration of life. Family members will be contacted for arrangement details.

So sorry to learn of Cindy’s passing. We reconnected after many decades and it was a pleasure to spend time with her again. I remember lots of laughs from high school days. My deepest condolences to Cindy’s family.

To Susan, Luke and Sam..... Such a sad loss to you and to Cindy's extended family. She was one of a kind and certainly I fondly remember numerous adventures on Drake's Island over the years with the Eddy clan (John quietly "acquring" a number of "chicken" lobsters for a typical Maine lobster feast!!). Cindy had a dynamic personality, at times bigger than life itself. The Ingmire and Eddy clans are intertwined for history and that is a good thing !! We deeply share in your loss.....
