Daniel Jerry Germenis (DJ) was born at home in Bastrop, Texas, on June 5th, 2001, to Paul and Annie Germenis. He sought truth and excellence in life as a homeschool student, pursued physical fitness and spiritual healing and wholeness with Jesus, became an Eagle Scout, and as of February 2021, fulfilled a life-long dream of joining the United States Air Force.
He married the joy and love of his life, Verity Smith, on June 26th, 2021. After a full 20 years, he passed away on July 28th, 2021, after a car accident in Biloxi, MS. He loved his God above all else and is preceded in glory by his parents, his beloved wife, his three siblings: Rachel Hostetler, Zechariah Germenis, Joshua Germenis, and their families, including four nieces and two nephews.
He has left a far-reaching impact by just being himself and was loved by more people than he knew. Daniel will be vastly missed by everyone who came into contact with him

I am Daniels brother Zech. I see that some people have taken the time to write about DJ and it warms my heart. If anyone would like to reach out and talk feel free to text me and let me know what you all did together. I would love to hear about it. My number is (512)718-0502. Feel free to shoot a text. Me and my family miss him a lot and think of him daily. Any extra story we could hear about him blesses us in so many ways.

I got to know Daniel over the internet playing Minecraft. It may seem like a light thing to most, but to me, Daniel left a big impact on everyone he met, in person or otherwise, and that includes myself. The things that struck me about Daniel as we became friends were his spunk and his love for the Lord. Both those were qualities that rubbed off on me. I always admired his willingness to stand by his beliefs, even if he lost less important things in the process, or if it made him unpopular with some people. I love the song by Robin Mark in the slideshow, "When it´s all been said and done." We like to think that we´ve got all the time in the world - especially when we are young, and that something like this could never happen. I regret not keeping in tough more over his last couple of years as my life got busier (and wish I could have met him in person), but I am thankful for the times I got to spend talking with him and just nerding out and having fun. I have no doubt he is resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior today; God´s good and faithful servant.

In our brief meeting with Daniel and Verity they both instantly impressed us with their maturity and faith. Our most sincere condolences and prayers for all who are grieving.
