O B I T U A R Y
Daniel Burt Phillips, 61, formerly of Blackfoot, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his home in Pocatello surrounded by his family from causes due to cancer.
He was born August 25, 1961, in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of LaVerne Eldon Phillips and Colleen Alldredge Phillips.
His youth was lived in Pocatello where he was educated until leaving to work in the Oil fields in Wyoming.
He had lived in various place including Long Beach, California where he met and married Karen Kunz on May 3, 1986. To this union were born 5 children. They were later divorced.
Dan was a mechanic and had worked at various automotive shops. He also had his own shop known as Dyno Dans.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved cars, motorcycles and about anything with a motor in it.
Survivors include his children, Wesley (Jessica) Phillips, Erryn (Chase) Fultz, Wade (Kristen) Phillips and Danielle (Jacob) Swank and 7 grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Becky Hendricks, Kelly Rankin and Samuel Philips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Neil and a brother Michael Phillips.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023 at Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com
