Daniel Saegert Obituary

Daniel “Dan” Saegert

Dan was born in Lincoln, Texas, on December 10, 1941, and passed away on May 25, 2021.  Being a native Texan, Dan was a man of many talents who often gave of himself to help others.

While there are many things that stand out, he will allows be remembered for his ability to fix anything, his extraordinary wit, and above all else his ability to love others.  He showed by example his faith, whether it be by caring for friend, always being positive, keeping his word, never lying, or simply reaching out … “to see how you’re doing.” Although he will be missed, his legacy will always remain through his family, his friends, and the countless people he touched throughout his life.

Dan is survived by Judy, his beloved wife, sisters Norma and Cleo, sons Mark and Michael, grandsons Stephen and Joseph, and extended family and friends.

The family asks that in honor of Dan that you give to the restoration of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School in Taylor Texas

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4th, 2021 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Providence Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor, Texas.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, immediately following the visitation.

Dan taught me things in life. I wish I could explain them all. I will always remember those days spent on the farm and I will remember those day, piddling around and helping for some of the best BBQ in Texas. Thank you my friend and thank you to your family I learned a lot, and your lessons will always be remember. I am sad that I can not share the experiences with my kids that I was hoping and planning to share with you and the kids, Dan. However, I will be able to live those experiences with my kids, but will not be the same. I will remember those life lessons you taught me and will try to share them with my kids. Your lessons where and are just like lessons my father taught. I wish you safe journeys and God's speed. Save a seat for me and tell Mom and Dad hello, and I wish them the best. Until we meet again, peace my friend.

Dan was the husband of one of my wife's very best friends. While we didn't visit that often, as couples, every time we did, i would learn something new, especially about technical items. He was, for the most part, a very quiet person and very nice to visit with. I am sure his family will miss him greatly. May he rest in peade.

Uncle Dan watching over us from heaven!

During our lives, we all have just so many trips around the sun. Uncle Dan encountered many influencing their lives making a difference when God needed. I know as during a dark period of time, he helped me understand, "It isn't about me." He is what God described in Jeremiah 5:1. Of the seven descriptors, Uncle Dan to me illustrated them all. The kind of man, God's servant I strived to be, Uncle Dan was. I'll miss him but shall always hold precious my trips to the farm and our personal talks. God bless this family, comfort them and show them love always!

My deepest sympathy is extended to the Saegert family. I will always be thankful for the way Dan stepped in to help my own family after my dad died. He was a quiet man with a big heart and a good friend. He will be greatly missed.
