Danny Lassiter Obituary
Danny Wade Lassiter, age 70, of Fairmont passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC. He was born September 15, 1950 in Robeson County, NC.
Mr. Lassiter was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Lassiter and Mary Helen Stone Lassiter; a brother, Dennis Lassiter.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Dianne R. Lassiter of the home; two sons, Mark Lassiter (Missy Harper) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and Matt Lassiter (Doris Allen) of Lumberton, NC; one brother, Mitchell Lassiter (Gail) of Lumberton, NC; three sisters, Wanda Jackson (Wayne) of Lumberton, NC, Rose Sutton (Troy) of Lumberton, NC and Betty Ann Palmerico (Richie) of Little River, SC; four grandchildren, Alexis and Bryson Lassiter, Kiara Allen and Shayla Lassiter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021, at 11:00AM at the Marietta Cemetery in Marietta, NC.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Trinity United Methodist Church, 307 Trinity Street, Fairmont, NC 28340.

I am filled with sadness as I write this about Danny. He was my oldest brother’s grandson (Wayne) and my nephew’s Wayne Jr. son. Wayne Jr grew up in my our home, so I always called him my brother. I saw Danny this summer at a family gathering. We talked and hugged. I am so glad we had that time together. May God be with all the family.

Still in shock hearing about Danny. I knew Danny from high school and worked with him at BB&T. Danny would come by my desk sometimes just to say hello and ask how I was doing, super nice. Thoughts and prayers to the family!

My friend, you are missed already. I can’t believe that our texts on Thursday would be the last that I will ever get from you. You were my fellow Redskins, Braves, & Tarheels arm-chair coach. We had our strategies worked out to bring home the wins or to cut the non-productive players & coaches. I’ll miss the texts during the games—especially the Redskins! Lord knows we suffered thru so many losing seasons, but always held out that this one would be it. I miss you telling me that I was your horse even if I never win a race. I missed working with you directly over the last 9 months due to COVID19 protocol split us up, but looked forward to the times you came over to deliver checks to PJL or seeing you in the break room and the parking lot. I’ll miss our talks about music that we both liked & your funny stories about your childhood. My heart goes out to your family, whom you loved. You were so proud of your sons & your grandkids. You were excited to share when you picked up a gift that your wife really wanted. You loved being spoiled by your sisters. I thank God that he shared you with us & I hope you know that you made a difference i my life. I love you my friend. Rest easy on that mountain.
