Danuta LaCaze Obituary

A Mass of Christian burial for Danuta LaCaze will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Natchez, LA with Father Charlie Ray Officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Natchez.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday July 7th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.


Danuta LaCaze was born on January 4, 1950 in Wildflecken, Germany to Stefan Owecki and Zofia Telenicio Owecki.  She passed away on July 1, 2021 in Natchitoches, LA at the age of 71 with her loving family by her side.  She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" LaCaze, her parents Stefan and Zofia Owecki and sister Janina Morris. 


She is survived by her life partner and best friend, John David Shoemaker of Natchitoches; son Dewayne Pullig and wife Melinda of Natchitoches; daughter Tammy Lynn Bennett and husband Terry of Natchitoches; Tommy Pullig and wife Nikki of Breaux Bridge; son Jimmy Pullig and wife Rusha of Provencal; her sister Krystyna Horton, brothers Steve Owecki and wife Diane, John Owecki and wife Sandra, Leon Owecki and wife Deena all of Natchitoches; eight grandchildren Michael Pullig, Corey Bennett, Kourtney Bennett, Tyler Pullig, Justice Pullig, Kara Pullig and Kale Pullig.


Danuta enjoyed cooking, having family get-togethers for frying fish and crawfish boils, brim fishing, boat riding on the Cane, camping and sightseeing.  She took care of others and provided support for many of her family after surgeries and illnesses.  She was a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked in health care until retirement. 


Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be her sons, Dewayne, Tommy and Jimmy; her grandsons Michael, Corey and Kale; her son-in-law Terry and close family friend Jeremy Neugent. Honorary pallbearer will be her grandson, Tyler Pullig.
