Dr. David Gregory Atiyeh of Grass Lake, age 63, went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2018 with his family by his side. David is survived by Susan, his loving wife of 38 years; children Dominic, Anthony, and Alecia, grandchild Ava and older brother to JR. David was born on May 9, 1955 to Frederick and Nicolena Atiyeh. He attended St. Valentine (Redford), Stevenson High School (Livonia), Schoolcraft Community College (Livonia), Central Michigan University (Mount Pleasant), Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport, Iowa). He practiced from Ludington, MI to Jacksonville, FL; and eventually settled in Plymouth, MI where he enjoyed being part of the community and providing care. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and furthering his education. He always wanted to learn more so that he could provide more to his patients. Just one example of him always putting others before himself. His love for God would illuminate from his presence. He regularly prayed with his patients, family, friends, and himself for guidance in fulfilling his purpose from God. Come celebrate Davids life and love for God with us on Saturday September 22, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Northville Christian Assembly of God, with Pastor Steve Samonek officiating. Please share your memories of David in lieu of this celebration. With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating hard working hands laid to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Memorial contributions may be made to Blums Landing,7460 Ocqueoc, Millerburg, MI 49759.

Dave Atiyeh was one of my first and best friend at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1982. He made getting through the Iowa winters bearable with our Friday Night Pizza and Beer Nights. Although we didn't speak often when we did it was like we saw each other every day. I was blessed to have known you, Rest in Peace, my friend.

Sue & Family:
So shocked and very sorry to hear of the loss of David. Although we had not seen David often in recent years, any time we did see him he was so very warm and friendly. And over the years so many people who I met knew David. As a doctor, I know he helped so many people during his life, and that is something we wish we all could say when our time on this earth comes to an end. Thinking of you and the rest of the family at this difficult time.

I have seen Dr. Atiyeh for many, many years and developed such a love for this professional, christian man who was always "absolutely fantastic" when asked how he things were going for him. He always was just the kindest, most positive person Rich and I have had the pleasure to know. This devastating loss is felt by us all and our love goes out to his loving family during this very sad time. Surely he is with his Lord and is at peace. For someone to leave this earth so suddenly when so many people loved him for the man he was--is a tribute to the kind of man he was and also his constant faith. We will miss him so very much.
God bless the Atiyeh family and his employees.

The world has lost a kind, funny , caring and loving man. He is with God - of that I am certain. He touched many lives - friends and patients but most of all his family who will miss him the most. Susan- you and DAVE were a beautiful couple and an example for us all. I am honored to have known you both as well as your children. Children are a reflection of their parents and have grown to adults that make parents proud . Dave - Rest In Peace and we will see you again. Love to you all.

Dr. Atiyeh was my chiropractor for several years and I will sorely miss him. He was always so cheerful and upbeat that I always left feeling cheerful and upbeat myself. He was such a lover of God he made my heart glad. I know he is safe in Jesus arms, but I will miss him.

On behalf of the Cox Technic family, we (particularly Dr. James Cox, Julie Cox-Cid, Arlene Wunderlin, George Joachim, Kurt Olding, Ralph Kruse) extend our condolences on the loss of Dr. David Atiyeh. He was a staunch supporter of chiropractic research by participating in studies whenever a call was made for his help and by funding research to help find a better way to help human suffering related to spine issues. His contributions to and his kindness to all he met in this professional setting will be hugely missed.

Dr. Atiyeh was our chiropractor in years passed, but he was always a friend. Going back many years he was the Dr. who treated our mother Thelma Roy. They had a relationship that went beyond patient/Doctor as they shared the same birthday although my mother was born in 1905! I remember the 100th birthday celebration for mom at our Church that was shared with Dr Atiyeh's 50th. They both enjoyed that day which we will always remember. Dr Ateiyeh was true to his profession as he would on occasion tell mom to see her medical Dr for a problem, but on the same token her medical Dr would tell her to see her chiropractor for a problem also. He will be truly missed but thank GOD for the memories he left.

Dear Sue, Tony, Dominic and Alecia, JR, Darren, and Brad,
We are so sorry for your loss. Our lives can change in the blink of an eye, and yes, it is so unfair. David was such a great guy. always so friendly, and enjoyable to talk to. We know why the food was always so good at JR and Marlita's Freedom Fest parties, because David did the grilling. Reflect on the wonderful memories you have, the fun times, the laughing times, the silly times, the crazy times, and the loving times. David will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. With deepest sympathy,
Linda and Barry

David was a special friend since I was 1 years old. We lived about 6 house away from the Atiyeh's. My mom and dad were friends with Fred and Lee for many years until they moved to Livonia. But even then we stayed in contact with them. My mom and Lee made home canned tomato paste, tomatoes, peaches, plums, strawberry jam, and dill pickles. His father made the best wine from home grown grapes. Dave, JR and I would help peel the desired canning of the day. We rolled in cardboard boxes down the hills in my backyard. Play hide and seek, kick the can, crochet, tag and combat. We swam in my pool everyday during the summer. We went to St. Valentine school. David was kind even as a kid. When other kids would tease me he would always say don't listen to them... I really missed him and Freddy (JR) when they moved away. My mom and Mrs. Atiyeh would go shopping and do things together. Finally I was able to reconnect when Dave was in Junior High and High School. He got me interested in Stepp-in Wolf and Moody Blues, Cat Stevens, and of course Bob Seger and Ted Nugent and Rod Stewart. He loved music!!! We got married the same year. We lost contact while we raised our families. My mom heard that David was a chiropractor. She got Parkinson's. My was very holistic. I develop vertigo and did not want to take the medicine for it. David found a way to manipulate my spine and base of my neck. Every time I got adjusted by him I was fine. My husband had a bad neck and could barely lift his arms. Dave was able to help him. We would praise the Lord upon our visits. My life was shown that faith can be very helpful through prayer and sharing his love with others. Dave and Sue both gave us this joy of Gods grace. Dave -- I learned from you and will miss your friendship. Sue I pray for you!!! Dominic, Tony, and Alecia be proud of your father and remember he is always with you!!! Love Ann and Ken Berini

We are so saddened to hear this news. We were privileged to be patients of Dr. Atiyeh but I think even more honored in the way he always made us feel like the best of friends. He always teased Jeff about his crazy goofy socks but then gave him a pair last Christmas time. He was always a happy, friendly, caring man who you knew without a doubt that he had Jesus in his heart. We planned to go to our monthly appointment last week, just like always, but received a call that there was an emergency. We are left in shock, sadness, but with no doubt of where he is. Thoughts and prayers for the family. We will miss seeing him for sure and his God Bless You Two, & Your good people encouragement. ~Jeff and Dawn Basch

Dr. Dave, as I would address him, has helped me many times through the years, with various back and neck issues, but it was my most recent treatment over the last 2 years that have been the most meaningful. Not only did Dave help me physically recover from a bad car accident, but he helped restore my faith and belief in the Lord.
Dave, such a special, caring and loving man, will be truly missed by all.
Sending my deepest sympathies to his beautiful family

Dave was a classmate at Stevenson High School, and one of my dearest friends at that time. He always had a loving heart, a big smile, and a wonderful sense of humor. He was one in a million. I have many good memories. We reconnected through Facebook where I saw he continued to shine his light through his career and his love for his family. In loving memory of you, Dave. Heartfelt condolences to your beautiful family.

The good doctor did wonders for my body and spirit. In addition to keeping my neck and back adjusted so I would be free from pain, he always had an encouraging word. I left every visit feeling uplifted in spirit as much as body. My prayers to his family, may you find solace in the fact he is now home with his Father in heaven.
