Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear about this. To Maureen and kids, the extended Burns and Roy families we send our deepest condolences. -The Angelo Family

Dear Maureen & family, I'm so sorry to hear about Dave's passing. We played on the high school golf team together and I have so many fond & funny memories of David. He was a great teammate, fiercely competitive with endless spirit. He was great fun, always had a bright eye, a witty comment and a ready laugh ( unless we lost!!!). His slap-shot-style golf swing was a force! May he rest in peace. Warm hugs and my deepest condolences to you all.

Today I was shocked and deeply saddened to find out that David passed just recently. Dave was the greatest guy. I'm an tax accountant and he always took care of me when I had issues with my copier for many years. I'm sure he will be missed by so many. My deepest condolences to his wife and family.

Dave was our "copy guy" for more than 24 years. Enjoyed him coming in as he was always good for some conversation of current events/politics. He was always happy to talk about his sons and hockey. I will miss having him in when our copiers need help. On behalf of Henry W. Peabody & Co., Inc. of Lynnfield, we offer our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

This book of memories is to serve as a record of the services you entrusted to us. We hope it will help to preserve treasured memories and that we, in some small measure, have helped to ease your burden and bring you comfort.

David's Obituary

David R. Burns, born on January 31, 1964 to John and Nancy (Lee) Burns, passed away peacefully at his home in Reading, MA on September 15, 2025.

David was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School, class of 1982. His fondest memories of his time there were playing for the varsity hockey and golf teams. His love of hockey later inspired him to volunteer as a coach with Reading Youth Hockey.

David ran a small business as a copier technician for 39 years, and as a colleague recently reported, his customers loved him. When he wasn’t working, he spent most of his time making home improvements, tinkering in his meticulously organized garage while listening to sports radio, and repairing and keeping the family cars (especially his Mustang convertible!) running.

David will be remembered for his friendly smile, his sense of humor and his genuineness. But mostly, he will be remembered for his devotion to his wife and two sons.

David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maureen (Carley) Burns, sons Nick J. Burns of Quincy and Charlie D. Burns of Los Angeles, CA, sister Sandy Cowell of Brockton and brothers Tommy Roy of North Reading, Danny Roy of Hampton NH, Scott Burns of Manchester, NH, and the late Doug Roy of Medford. He is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, who will miss him dearly.

David’s funeral services and burial are private and there are no visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David’s memory to the American Cancer Society 3 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701 www.cancer.org
