David Scott Misner of Avon, Indiana passed away on December 7, 2025. Dave was born on May 18, 1968 in Carmel, Indiana to Larry and Anna (Wilkerson) Misner. He graduated from Snider High School in Fort Wayne before earning his Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University and his MBA from Butler University.
Dave met his wife Susan in 1990 at IU, and they married in 1996. They made their home in Avon and had three children: Cameron Todd, Wesley Scott, and Elise Mae.
Dave spent a career in commercial finance, finding success because of his knack for building durable and trusted relationships with his business partners. His success allowed Sue to stay home with their children while they were young.
Dave was an adventurer who enjoyed traveling with his family, and he never turned down an opportunity to try something new. He craved challenges, rooted hard for IU and Pittsburgh sports teams, appreciated corny jokes, and wore the brightest clothes he could find. He was a well-loved coach of his children’s youth-sports teams, and when his children and their teammates grew older, he was their biggest fan.
Dave was also devoted to the welfare of children and families. He led support groups for grieving parents for thirteen years. With Sue, he coordinated an annual food drive in honor of his late son Wesley. And he gave generously to child-advocacy centers and similar causes.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jeffrey, and his son Wesley. He is survived by his wife Susan, his daughter Ellie, and his son Cameron and family, including wife Bailey. He is also survived by his brother Scott and family, including Katrina LeBlanc and Zachary Misner. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brooke’s Place, 8935 Meridian St., Ste. 200, Indianapolis, IN 46260, https://www.brookesplace.org/donate. Please also consider sharing your favorite stories about Dave at https://bookofstories.com/contribute/109. The visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday December 13, 2025, and the funeral service will follow, all at Avon United Methodist Church.

Thinking of the Misner family as this holiday season must be a tough one. I knew Dave through working with him and he always smiled and spoke so highly of his family. He was truly a bright brilliant light in the finance world and was knew literally everyone. It was a pleasure to work with him in his loan closings. He will truly be missed. Prayers for you during this difficult time. May all of the wonderful memories bring you comfort and may God bring you peace.

Dave was a best friend to me. With Kacey and Robert, we braved and enjoyed middle and high school. I remember all the laughing times. He loved you so much, Sue. Dave always said that he married well. He will be missed by so many people. My prayers are with you and your family.
Love you both so very much❤
