David E. Grandel, Galena, MO, son of Ira and Ruth (Stone) Grandel, was born June 5, 1947 in Canton, OH and departed this life on November 4, 2020 at the age of 73.
Dave had lived in the area for forty-nine years, moving here from Toledo, OH. He was an outside salesman and a manager for Herrman Lumber Company during forty years of employment. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Kimberling City, MO and was ordained as a deacon. He also served as a director for Southern Stone County Fire Protection District. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and an avid outdoorsman.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include: his wife of fifty-five years, Sharon Grandel of Galena, MO; son, Doug Grandel and wife, Misty of Fordland, MO; three daughters, Heather Locke and husband, Mike of Tucson, AZ; Daphne Grandel of Marshfield, MO; and Dawn Carey and husband, Jeff of Chesterfield, MO; two sisters, Kathy Bradley and husband, Bob of Seville, Ohio and Karen Nakaoka and husband, Bob of Ogden, UT; seven grandchildren, Cole Grandel and wife, Kiara of Houston, TX; Ethan Grandel of Fordland, MO; Skyler Grandel of Fordland, MO; Grace Grandel of Fordland, MO; Jac Carey of Chesterfield, MO; Mia Carey of Chesterfield, MO; and Stella Carey of Chesterfield, MO; and a host of other family and friends.
Service for Dave will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Kimberling City, MO with Pastor Jeff Hardy officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations go to First Baptist Church of Kimberling City, Local Mission Fund in memory of David Grandel, 2 Lakeshore Drive, Kimberling City MO, 65686.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.

Sorry for your loss! Dave was a great man and treated everyone well! I always enjoyed speaking with Dave and kept contact with him for up to 27 years after I left Herrman because he was such a great human being! So sorry again for your loss!!! Respectfully James Payton
