David R. Hoshaw, 85, of rural West Lafayette, passed away at his residence on February 13, 2025. David was born on November 11, 1939, in Delphi, to the late Forrest & Mildred Snyder Hoshaw. He married Marie Ross Hoshaw. David was a 1957 graduate of Delphi High School, and a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran. David worked at the former Eli Lilly & Co., in Lafayette, as a head machinist, and retired from there. He and his wife spent several years wintering in Naples, FL. David enjoyed planting and taking care of his big garden. Sharing its produce with his family and friends. He enjoyed building Blue Bird birdhouses and taking care of them. He loved to work in his yard and keep his property manicured just right. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to go mushroom hunting. Surviving: son-Todd & Anita Hoshaw of Delphi, daughter-Tina M. Riley of Indianapolis, sister-Linda Brammel of Frankfort, sister-Judy Lutchka of Evansville, 6 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren survive. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and 2 infant brothers. Private family services will take place. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, Delphi.
