I didn't know Dave well, but what I do know was that he was a fine man, he loved his family and his country and he served both with honor and distinction. My sincere condolences.

We had such fun as kids playing hot box at the Welz house. I think David let me score more than tagging me out. God be with you all always.

Dear Sherry and Family
As his cousin, while growing up I always appreciated his love for baseball, his country and most important his family. But it was that smile and laugh that I will always cherish. Oh that smile, that laugh....,
Chuck, RITA and Family : Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ollar family during these very sad times.

Sherry
I was a high school friend of Dave's as well as college. I wish we had kept in touch through the years. We did have chance to visit at hs reunion committee meeting. His legacy remains through you and your children. He was a great guy.

The most honorable man that I had the priviledge of knowing , we met about two to three years ago, found out we both served in Viet Nam the same time , same year, we knew this day was coming and we spent time talking about it, Dave was a man of Faith, we talked that the end of this life, was a new beginning in eternal glory, while he was here he lived his life, loved his family , and left them knowing that he truly LOVED THEM. Military Order of Purple Heart Chaplin, Rev. Robert F. Gay (USMC )

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hung around Dave while he was still at AB. I played softball for the Budlight Eagle team. I was looking for him recently and didn't have very good luck finding him. I have so many wonderful memories of him. He was a wonderful man and a very giving person. He talked about his kids constantly, they were his life. We'd have a group of friends that went to the Cards and Blues games. I think the only thing he loved more than sports is John Wayne. I'm sorry I lost touch with him
