David Rayvon Thrash, age 84, a resident of Brundidge, died Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2 pm at Richland Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Ellis officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. Interment will follow in Richland Baptist Cemetery in Brundidge with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years: Dorothy "Dot" Thrash of Brundidge; children: Sheila Jordan, Steve Thrash (Wendy), Cindy Griswold (Rodney), Donna Avant (Freddy), James Bradley, Richard Call (Mandy), Nancy Danner; siblings: Dorothy Norris (Aaron), Leon Thrash, William Thrash, Joe Thrash, Glenda Hopkins (Dane); 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
He is preceded in death by his mother: Eunice Grace Thrash; father: Clem Thrash; sister: Nora Jean Willoughby Douglas; and great great grandchild: Addison Alexis Allen.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Price, Justin Barr, Shane Griswold, Andrew Thrash, Jacob Holladay, and Tristan Farnsworth.
Mr. Thrash served his country as a member of the National Guard for 18 years. He worked at Ft. Rucker for 51 1/2 years from 1964 until 2016, and had his own tax service for 40 years. He enjoyed serving his community by volunteering with the Brundidge Rescue Squad for 8 years, and coaching a little league baseball team for 5 years. Above all, he loved his family and church. He was an astounding father and great grandfather.

So sorry to hear of Mr Rayvons passing. He was a sweet man who loved God, his family, friends and community. Praying for the family during this difficult time and I know his deep love for them will bring peace.
