Deacon Lucious Clyde Ball, Sr. of 401 Ferguson Road, Desoto, Georgia, died Saturday, September 6, 2025, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of The Restoration Church in Americus, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Sue Walker Cemetery in Cobb, Georgia.
Deacon L. C. Ball, Sr. transitioned from this life to his Heavenly home on September 6, 2025, at his residence.
Deacon L. C. Ball, Sr. was born September 5, 1934, in Sumter County, Georgia. He was the fifth child born to the union of Mr. Johnnie Ball and Mrs. Mattie Shootes Ball.
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at the Antioch Baptist Church by Reverend Samuel Holman, then moved his membership to Corinth Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia. In 1960, he joined the Shady Baptist Church in Leslie, Georgia, where he served as a deacon and chairman until his health declined.
Deacon L. C. Ball, Sr., met and married Hattie Mae Hogan on December 24, 1956. This union was blessed for 42 years and had three beautiful children.
He was preceded in his death by his parents, Johnnie Ball and Mattie Shootes Ball, and one brother, Johnny Frank Ball, Jr. Atta and Sampson George, Frankie Wright, Ulysses Wright Frazier, Bonnie Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories with his beloved children, Lucious C. Ball, Jr. of Desoto, Georgia, Minister Lorenzo (Jacqueline) Ball, Sr. of Sumter, South Carolina, and Gwendolyn Ball Cross of Americus, Georgia; his siblings, Mr. Willie Ball of Cordele, Georgia, Mattie Ruth Carter, Fletcher (Sarah) Ball, Marcellous (Sandra) Ball, and Charles Ball, all of Jersey City, New Jersey, and Geraldine Cherry of Leslie, Georgia; his grandchildren, Lorenzo (Jasmine) Ball, Jr. of Americus, Georgia, Jonathan (Eryka) Cullens, Jamelle Cullens both of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Tranerious Green of Americus, Georgia; his sisters-in-law, Martha McGhee, Annie Jewel Wright, Evon Antwine (Wayne), and Elizabeth Wright; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Wright and Leodus Wright; eight great grandchildren, Jaztan Ball, Tobias Ball, La’Neriah Green, Londyn Green, Prince Green, Ka’Liyah Cullens, Kassionni Cullens, and Kameron Cullens, and a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
