Deborah M. Walsh, 67, of Manchester, NH, died August 26, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. It was this determination the prolonged her life for more than three years.

Until her retirement in 2013, Deb worked in the dietary department at the Elliot Hospital for more than four decades.

She was a member of St. Matthew Episcopal Church, Goffstown, for several years.

Deb will be remembered for her positive personality, zest for life, as well as her devotion and love for her family and friends.  She maintained lifelong friendships with many people that go back as far as grade school.  She was well respected and loved by her Ledgewood Community neighbors.

Deb enjoyed crocheting and making prayer shawls.  She looked forward to spending summers at York Beach, ME.  Deb had a love for animals, especially wolves. She supported many animal welfare organizations and rescued several dogs over her lifetime.  She cherished her sweet dog, Suzy, who brought her great comfort throughout her illness.

Deb will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing this remarkable woman.

She was married to her husband of thirteen years, Daniel C. Walsh.  He died October 20, 2011.  She was also predeceased by a brother, John “Jack” Thornton, Jr.

Family members include her brother, Kevin Thornton and his wife, Janet, of Hooksett; a step-daughter, Kristine Stewart, and her husband, Jim, of Pflugerville, TX; a step-granddaughter, Hannah; and many cousins and close friends.

I met Debbie when in high school working at the Elliot. She was my daughter's Godmother, but she treated both my kids special. They loved visiting with Debbie.

Our sincere sympathy to Deb's family, i.e., Kristine, Jim and Hannah, Kevin and Janet... and to her many, many friends in the community. We got to know Deb through her husband Dan, who was a good friend and co-worker at USPS.

Deb was a special person... always happy, laughing and comforting to all whom she met. She was extremely supportive of her mom and brother Jack, and is the type of daughter and sister whom everyone would love to have as THEIR daughter/sister.

We conversed a few times after Dan's passing, but not enough... as we were not aware of her recent health struggles. Deb will obviously be missed by all of us...her friends and relatives. GOD has called his angel home to be with him.... and with those friends and relatives who predeceased her.

Our prayers are with Deb today...and GOD BLESS all her friends and relatives

Debbie Walsh was one of my all time favorite special people. As her (now retired) parish priest I can say that her faith and spirit were exemplary. She was a light in this world. May she Rest In Peace and rise in glory.
