DeJuan Levi Simmons passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 54. He was a resident of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, DeJuan was a devoted husband and father who lived with integrity, kindness, and deep faith. He was thoughtful, steady, and deeply committed to his family and community.
He built a career in information technology and project management and was an advocate for mental health and disability accessibility. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Omicron Alpha Lambda Chapter, as well as the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Fathers’ Auxiliary.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda, and their daughter, Ella-Grace; and a host of other relatives.
DeJuan passed after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
A viewing will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church Old Site, 801 Sophia Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM, during which the Omega Service for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will be observed.
In honor of DeJuan, the family invites you to consider a memorial contribution to LUNGevity Foundation in support of lung cancer research and care.

Dejuan it was very nice getting to meet you and Yolanda in Jack and Jill. Being a pallbearer at your homecoming and hearing all the wonderful things about your life and love for God, I only wish I had more time to know you as a father and friend.
