Denise Metteer

1960 - 2022

A Memorial Visitation for Denise R. Metteer, age 61, of Fairmont, MN will be 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be held at a later date in Lamberton City Cemetery. Denise passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Oak Terrace Senior Living in Le Sueur, MN. The Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Denise was born July 1st, 1960, in Westbrook, MN to Melvin and Mertle Metteer. She had six siblings, three sisters and three brothers. Denise helped and loved her mother as her father died when she was merely six years old. In high school, she lost her brother Delvin to a car accident in 1975, another brother DeVonne passed after that in 1996. Denise outlived her brother DeWaynne who passed in 2011 and her mother who passed in 2015.

As an adult, Denise had a son David in 1987 and raised him on her own. Six years later she had her daughter Ashley in 1993. She continued doing it alone, and after eight years she brought her last child Katelyn into the world in 2001.

Denise worked to support her kids alone with little help from others. At times life got rough and there were many struggles that she overcame. However, she continued to push forward and try her best for her family.

In her free time, she enjoyed her grandkids, along with taking care of her plants. She loved old western movies and Elvis music, along with finding deals as she was always helping others.

Denise leaves behind her children, son David (34) & wife Ashley, daughters Ashley (28), Katelyn (20). Her grandchildren Isaiah (20), Evelyn (15), Esme (10), Nevaeh (8), Eva (5), Ella (2), David (11 Months). Along with her sisters Deyonne Metteer, Lyla Craig, Darla Memmenga. However, she also leaves behind nieces and nephews, along with several friends.
