Dennis Fischer utilized his musical gifts to the glory of God.
He was an outstanding church musician in the areas of church organist, adult and youth instrumentalists and choirs, and grade school band.
He also effectively taught the fourth grade at St. Michael's Lutheran School, and was a treasured member of the staff.
His love for the Lord was shown in his Christian life.
We extend our sympathy to his family.

Mr. Fisher was an amazing fourth grade teacher. He was kind, gentle and fun. He gave me the nickname “Trixie”, which carried on through my years at St. Michael’s. He encouraged us to always do our best. He will be remembered as one of my favorite teachers. Sending Gods love and prayers to his family during this difficult time.

Dennis and I were in the same class at Saint Lorenz (Main Street) School. We lived in a rented farm house on Roedel Road and and we would play together when we were in town at his house and at school. My parents moved us to Colorado in 1959 because of my severe asthma. When we visited Frankenmuth I would visit him along with some others in my Saint Lorenz school class. We drifted as we got older and some years ago I wrote to him for his help to my Aunt Irma's affairs in her old age. I am glad that I made contact with him again. His years as a teacher and a friend to me were good for both of us. Er war ein gute freund und lehrer.

Dennis was such a kind gentle man who I cared for at Waterford. He was soft spoken but always had a smile for me. I was so sorry to hear of Dennis’ passing and will miss him but look forward to singing with him playing the organ in Heaven. My prayers and sympathies go out to his friends and family.

Dennis was an outstanding teacher. I was amazed at how in the fall he would take the 5th graders (who I assumed hadn't played an instrument before), and by the spring concert in May, they could play patriotic marches beautifully. Our three children had him as their 4th grade teacher. My daughter said she remembers him wearing suspenders with piano keys on them while directing the choir. He was so gifted in music. Our church was also very blessed to have him as music director and organist. Many in our congregation will always remember how well he directed, and Lois Bickel accompanied our choir. They were a great team. Rest in peace. Your musical talent will always be remembered at St Michael's.

Denny was my husband’s cousin, whom I first met in 1966. I was impressed at the time that someone, a bit younger than me, was such a talented musician, and yet, a humble, typical high school grad. We saw each other mostly at family gatherings and Christmas where we would gather around the piano and Denny would play Christmas carols.
He played the organ at our wedding and I was always grateful for his choice of music. Very classy!
He, as with everyone else in his family, loved to play euchre. He was good at it, but when playing with his cousins, they would start talking, and I could easily steal the deal., which I was good at.
Denny was a kind, loving, caring soul. When we moved away from Frankenmuth, we didn’t see him as often as we would have liked. Thankfully, his Brother-In-Law, Bernie Grysen and Bernie’s wife, Bonnie, made sure that Denny always had family present in his life.
Denny, Jane and the rest of the Fischer’s are welcoming you with open arms and a deck of euchre cards. God bless.

Dennis was my great 4th grade teacher, school & church choir director, piano and band instructor. He was the one who wanted me to be a trombone player as I played in St. Michael's school band in 5th-8th grades, church brass, four years at Reese high school too. He played the organ at our wedding 23 years ago. He was very talented and knowledgeable with music. I loved getting to know his Mother Esther as she was a resident at the Lutheran Home where I used to work. May you REST IN PEACE IN HEAVEN, MR. FISCHER! THANKS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES AND YOUR MUSICAL TALENT!

Dennis and I went to school together. We had to sit behind the piano in Mr, Sontag’s room in second grade while he pounded
On the piano because we were talking. I will never forget it. Dennis was a nice school friend
