Dennis Riley Fleck

1939 - 2021

Dennis R. Fleck 82 of Portage Passed away Friday November 5, 2021 at Bronson Methodist Hospital.  Dennis was born May 25, 1939 in Kalamazoo the son of Albert and Patricia (Riley) Fleck.  He was a graduate of St, Augustine High School and attended Western Michigan University, where he worked in telecommunications for 12 years after retirement.  Dennis was an Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War as part of 19 Bomb Wing Maintenance.   He worked for over 30 years for Michigan Bell now Lucent Technology and enjoyed civil war reenactments where he was also involved in the shooting competitions.  In the mid 70’s he was a coach for AYSO Soccer.  He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Schoolcraft Eagles Lodge,  National Rifle Association and enjoyed building models.  On June 15, 1965 in Kalamazoo Dennis was united in marriage to the former Carol Quevillon who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Eric (Patricia) Fleck of Fulton, Michael (Mindy) Fleck of Portage; four grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Carly, Joseph; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Albert James Fleck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Friday November 12, 2021 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
