Dixie Miller Obituary
Dixie Miller, age 93, of Shelbyville, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.
She was born January 8, 1921, in Shelby County, MO, the daughter of Claude and Katherine Pollard Tuggle. On February 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to Leland Miller. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1991.
Dixie is survived by two children, Linda Steffen and husband Ron of Palmyra, MO and Jeff Miller and wife Cindy of Shelbyville, MO; one daughter-in-law, Toni Miller; six grandchildren, Susan Piscitelli, Shawn Dietrich, Cathy Dorsey, Amy Moore, Caleb Miller and David Miller and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one son, David Miller; one granddaughter, Leangela Porter and two brothers, Pollard and Donnie Lee Tuggle.
Dixie was a 1939 graduate of Shelbyville High School and a member of Shelbyville Christian Church. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, canning, her dogs and reading. Dixie's love for her family was very evident and she cherished the time she spent with them.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the Shelbyville Christian Church in Shelbyville, MO, with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Shelbyville. Visitation will be held at the Christian Church from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Saturday. Memorial may be made to Shelbyville Christian Church or Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this time of sorrow. I was sorry I was unable to attend your mom's funeral. I have so many fond memories of her and mom throughout the years. She was a very special lady and dear friend to my family. Her smile and kindness will be greatly missed!
