Donald Dean Christenson, Crane, MO, son of Lester and Irene (Giles) Christenson, was born on December 17, 1933, in Irene, SD and departed this life on January 19, 2023, at the age of 89.
Donald grew up in Riverside, CA and served his country in the US Navy from 1953 to 1957. He had lived in the area since 1974, coming from Simi Valley, CA. He was a postmaster at Hurley, MO for fourteen years, a member of the Model T Club, Model A Club, Studebaker Club and The Hurley Community Baptist Church, Hurley, MO. Donald had a teaching degree in Industrial Arts and taught school for fourteen years before going into farming in the Hurley area in 1974.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, stepson, Steven Wayne Pryer and sister, Maxine Taylor.
Survivors include: his wife, Patricia “Ann” Christenson of Crane, MO; three sons, Timothy Karl Christenson and his wife, Donna of Erving, MA, Daniel Dean Christenson and his partner, Kristyn Shippee of Greenfield, MA and David Christenson and his wife, Amber of Crane, MO; step daughter, Sherry Pryer-Lenza and her husband, Mike of Oshkosh, WI; sister, Shirley McGarth of Riverside, CA; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Stumpff Funeral Chapel, Crane, MO. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Lloyd Hart officiating. Burial will be in Short Cemetery, Hurley, MO with Doug Minton officiating. Services are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane, MO.

Dear Ann and family. We were very sorry to hear about Don's passing. Praying our Almighty Heavenly Father God give you comfort, strength and peace during this hard time. We always enjoyed visiting with Don. He was quite a character and a good man.
